Stourhead

Stourhead garden was created by Henry Hoare II, inspired by the classical scene in Italy and the landscape paintings he saw there during his grant tour of Europe in the 1730's, set out to create a poetic landscape.  His 'painting' was three dimensional - he planted hanging beechwoods to clothe the hills and frame new lakes reflecting temples modeled on classical examples.

The whole Garden echoes with references to heroes and gods of ancient Rome.  The Garden at Stourhead was much visited and copied, becoming a model for the growing English Landscape style, later taken up by Capaility Brown and his followers.  Stourhead has over 2 miles worth of lake side walks.

Puttles Bridge is an area of the New Forest in Hampshire, England.  It's a very quiet and quaint setting with natural woodlands dating back many centuries to William Conqueror.  Puttles Bridge is exactly that, a bridge over a large stream which runs through the New Forest near Lymington and Lyndhurst.  The New Forest is now deemed a Nature Park and is protected from development, allowing us to keep nature how it's intended to be, free and wild.

In nearby areas of the New Forest you can see wild horses, cows, bull's, calf's and deer roaming freely.

Puttles Bridge is an exceptional area of beauty.

The ancient borough of Christchurch is situated on the South Coast of England, a short distance from Bournemouth and Southampton.  The down dates from Saxon times and lies in the shadow of the majestic 11th Century Priory Church, with traditional English pubs, tiny cottages and excellent restaurants.    Christchurch also houses some lovely sandy beaches, and historic buildings and is not far from the New Forest in Hampshire.   The Christchurch Priory has been on the present site since about AD 700 and was listed in the Domesday Book of 1086 (then referred to as The Monastery of the Holy Trinity of Thuinam and administered by a Dean and 24 secular canons).
